Gallatin Economic Development Agency Names New Special Projects Director

GALLATIN, TN – The Gallatin Economic Development Agency (GEDA) has announced the promotion of Lilibeth Leon to Special Projects Director. Leon previously served as the agency's Existing Industries Manager.

Since joining the agency in February 2022, Leon has been instrumental in driving workforce development initiatives and supporting existing industrial employers including Gap Inc., Axem, Beretta, CDF, DFM Arms, and Mohawk Textiles. During her tenure with the City of Gallatin, Leon has facilitated annual work-based learning events to provide high school students in Sumner County with opportunities to experience high-tech manufacturing facilities firsthand and learn about trade certifications available at Volunteer State Community College. She has also managed the agency's prospect and client database, which is crucial for industrial retention and recruitment.

“Lilibeth brings exceptional depth to our agency,” said GEDA Executive Director Rosemary Bates. “Her ability to analyze critical information and data is invaluable to both prospects and our existing industry partners. Her contributions have already strengthened our economic position, and her new role will further enhance Gallatin's competitive advantage in Middle Tennessee.”

Leon is a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and previously served in roles in real estate and regional engagement. Next month, she will receive her Tennessee Certified Economic Developer (TCEcD) designation from the University of Tennessee, further enhancing her expertise in economic development.

“I’m honored to continue my work for the City of Gallatin in this new capacity,” said Leon. “I look forward to supporting our agency's Board and Executive Director as we further enhance our economic development efforts to ensure Gallatin is full of opportunity for existing and future residents.”

In her new role, Leon will oversee a variety of vital assignments relating to prospect recruitment, site availability, and grant funding. The agency's Board of Directors plans to fill the Existing Industries Manager position in the coming months.
